Chevy trucks are notorious for this light. You'll need to replace the EVAP vent solenoid.

You may also want to check the gas cap, to see if the rubber seal is torn, cut or worn out. Even a lose gas cap will cause this failure code. I see this quite often on senior citizen owned vehicles, especially ones owned by elderly ladies to have difficulty screwing the gas caps on until they "click".

Where is evap emission

Your evap emission system is your pressurized fuel system. If you are getting a check engine light and the scan is throwing an evap code start by changing your fuel cap. It is the cheapest part of the system and quite common to fail. Unfortunately if you change your cap and erase your fault codes and the check engine light returns for evap system again, you will probably end up at the dealership to track down the leak.

Check engine light up

DTC P0496 - EVAPORATIVE EMISSION (EVAP) SYSTEM FLOW DURING NON-PURGE

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
This DTC tests for undesired intake manifold vacuum flow to the evaporative emission (EVAP) system. The control module seals the EVAP system by commanding the EVAP canister purge valve Closed and the EVAP canister vent valve Closed. The control module monitors the fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor to determine if a vacuum is being drawn on the EVAP system. If vacuum in the EVAP system is more than a predetermined value within a predetermined time, this DTC sets.

Three evap lights keep failing therefore I cannot get it inspected,,,What can be the problem?

Most likely it is a cracked or broken vacuum line in the evap system, or the evap solenoid is not working, once in a while it is the evap canister itself, but not very often. Also make sure the fuel cap is good and closed tightly and is the proper one for your vehicle. (a fuel cap that does not seal will cause an evap leak)

Check the vacuum lines and inspect them carefully.

This is a closed system and any vacuum leak that causes the evap system to loose vacuum, or not to hold a specified vacuum for a specified amount of time, will register as a data trouble code (DTC) and the malfunction indicator light (M.I.L.) (check engine light, or service engine soon light) will be turned on.

I have mercedes ml 430. check engine came on at the same time fuel warning light was blinking. took the car to authorized mechanic, they checked and found po455ctrl system grass leak. they reset the check...

no
it is more likely that the problem is in the EVAP system
code p 0455 refers to evaporative emission(EVAP)system---large leak detected ====causes --hose connections ---intake leak---EVAP cannister---EVAP canister purge valve
I would suggest to you to tell the mechanic to replace the EVAP purge valve as the problem is more likely to be that than the fuel tank
