What is the automatic transmission fluid capacity for a 1988 dodge ramcharger 4wd 5.2L engine

Regardless if your '07 Dodge Caliber has a 1.8L or a 2.0L engine, the transmission fluid capacity is the same. What will make a difference is the type and size of any auxiliary coolers that the vehicle may or may not utilize, and what type of service you are performing. For example, if the transmission is being overhauled and the torque converter is empty, the "dry fill" capacity is 8.6 quarts. On the other hand (and much more likely), if the transmission is being serviced inside the vehicle, the "service fill" capacity is 7.4 quarts. Be sure to only use the manufacturer recommended Mopar CVT+4 or equivalent; not all transmission fluids are the same and adding an incorrect type could damage the transmission. Engine oil should be 5 or 6 quarts with the filter, and automatic trans is 4 quarts with filter and about 12-14 quarts total.

i would change the ****** filter see if that fixes the problem!

What you want/need is a Factory Service Manual for the '87 Ramcharger, it covers each transmission in depth.
Which, if i remember correctly, there were 4 transmissions available in 1987. The Torqueflite 727 3-Speed Automatic (Found in 2WD and 4WD Ramchargers), the 904 Torqueflite 3-Speed Auto (2WD only), the New Process 435 4-Speed Manual Transmission (2WD & 4WD) and the Chrysler A833 4-Speed Manual (2WD only)

1. When refilling, remove dipstick to provide adequate venting and allow oil to flow into crankcase.
2. With ENG at operating temperature, shift through all gears. Check fluid level in PARK and add fluid as needed.
3. Fill to no more than 1/4 to 9/16" below fill plug hole.
4. Fill no higher than 9.5 mm or 3/8" below fill plug.

sounds like a linkage problem to me. but if you have changed transmission fluid I know newer models require mopar trans fluid. might want to check into

Automatic depends on why it's being added. If bone dry try 8 quarts and check. Always check warm in no gear, if you can't be carefullllll not to over fill. Atf +4 is what dodge automatic. take
