Try this: Move the shifter slightly past the desired gear (hold in the shifter button) then return it to the desired gear. If this works consistently, then the problem is that the shifter linkage is out of alignment and possibly worn. There is no harm, however, using this "work around". Does this help?

What would cause temperature gauge bouncing ?

Sounds like the sending unit has an intermittent short to ground. Unhook the the wire from the sending unit, and see if the needle stops jumping around. If it quits jumping around, replace the sending unit. If it still jumps around, you have a bare spot somewhere on the wire and it is hitting ground which will cause the needle to jump. Cut out the bad part of the wire and splice in a new section. That should fix it.

My 2001 Buick lesabre is jumping a little when I put it into gear n when I hit the gas? Any suggestions on what it could possibly be...

Jumping like a hard shift? I learned a hard lesson from this same symptom. I thought it was the transmission going out on me... it wasn't. Check your engine mounts for damage first. If the car jumps while driving too, check your MAF (mass airflow sensor) for some reason it jacks with the transmission.

Sounds like maybe a motor mount may have broken,if you
open the hood and put the car in drive ,then neutral then reverse
the engine should only "rock" about an inch or so,if it really jumps
that is the problem.

2000 Ford Taurus not getting gas

If your in gear (D) for example and you hit the gas, engine revs, but car doesn't speed up, it's a problem with your transmission, and the first thing you can do is have the fluid level checked, and add fluid if needed. If that's not the cure, take it to a transmission shop & have it diagnosed.
