Air bag light is flashing. Car then sputters

Do u have anything plugged into cig lighter? Do u have a radio amplifier? Car alarm? When u drive car...does it last over an hour or does it die? Is this a used car....I would recheck the alternator...they may say it's good but sometimes that's not always the case. Alternators are cheap and easy to replace...something is draining battery like is ur radio really

Sound like it needs a tune up, replace spark plugs check high tension cables , make sure there is a good spark to the plugs, clean or replace air filter, replace fuel filter , check fuel pressure and flow. check fuel injectors for leaks.

Is the serpentine belt still on the engine, and is it tight ?
Does the alternator pulley turn when the engine is cranked or running ?

Sounds like you need a tune up with new air and fuel filter.

a fault will show up on the diagnostic computer if faulty so he/she is waiting for the fault to develope before charging you for work....

solution one:

If your driving in your car and it suddenly dies for no reason. That usually means that the air bag kill switch stopped working. Some kind of safety device to kill the engine.

This is what happened to me I was driving in my car home from work and everything is perfect one minute and then the car DIES!!! The next morning took it to my mechanic and he looked under the hood for 4 hours and found nothing. It wasn't doing it that day. I was insisting that my car was not working properly and the mechanic said he found nothing in the diagnosis. Then I was leaving and the darn air bag light came on. I went back in to the garage that minute. He took the car back in and found the problem within one hour. It was the darn air bag switch.

solution two:

Check the Distributor Cap and Rotor. Check Spark Plugs and wires. Replace if necessary.


solution three:
Check Air filter and fuel filter. Replace if necessary.


solution four:

This is the most expensive solution but if all else fails Change the Control Computer. Garage will charge around $500.

sounds like security system problem...to re-set, put key in ignition, turn to run, till security light stops flashing. turn off then start car. See if this helps!
