I think the child safety lock is engaged. Look in your owner manual how to disengage. It is near the latch on the edge of the door. Look for the yellow label.

rotate counterclockwise to disengage child lock.

forgot to ask, does it open from the outside? It will even if child lock engaged. Child lock only prevents door from opening from inside.

If you have trim panel off, move the lock rod and see if it's connected to the latch and that the latch is moving internally.

Also, move the outside releae handle and see if it's connected to the latch and that you feel resistance when you pull the handle.

I think the lock rod may not be unlocking the latch internally.

What happens when you unlock with the key fob?

2013 ford grand cmax rear passenger sliding door won't open

There are several possible causes for a rear sliding door that won't open on a Ford Grand C-Max, including a malfunctioning latch, a broken cable, or a damaged handle. Here are some steps you can try to open the door:
  1. Try using the interior or exterior handle: If the handle feels loose or doesn't move smoothly, it could indicate a problem with the latch or cable. If the handle feels normal but the door won't open, move on to step 2.
  2. Check the child lock: Make sure the child lock on the door is not engaged, as this can prevent the door from opening from the inside. The child lock is usually located on the edge of the door, near the latch.
  3. Use the key fob: Press the unlock button on your key fob to see if the door will unlock and open. If it doesn't, move on to step 4.
  4. Check the fuse: Look for the fuse box on your Ford Grand C-Max and locate the fuse for the power sliding door. Check the fuse to see if it's blown, and replace it if necessary.
  5. Try manually unlocking the door: If all else fails, you can try manually unlocking the door by removing the door panel and accessing the latch mechanism. This can be a complicated process, so it may be best to take the vehicle to a professional mechanic or Ford dealer for assistance.
Overall, if you are not familiar with automotive repairs, it may be best to take the vehicle to a mechanic or Ford dealer to diagnose and repair the issue.

Look at the other door and look on the front edge to see where the child safety lock switch and see if that is the problem with the other door. That has happened with mine several times. Someone will play with it leaving it on so it can't be opened.

Your rear doors have a child proof safety lock above the lock linkage, there is a turn knob, open the door from the outside and adjust, then the door will open from the inside now.

2004 lexus gx470 rear door won't open...I can hear the lock click when I press the alarm key but the door will not open

Try opening door manually from inside, once open and make sure child safety switch (near lock mechanism isn't between on/off) They're known for jamming between settings. If that doesn't work then you'll have to remove inside door panel and access latch mechanism.

Can not open back door on 2003 blazer. i'm trying to use emergency latch not working....

If you can't open the door from either the inside or outside, and the lock is moved to the "unlock" position, then the latch itself may be bad. First try manually locking and unlocking the door several times to see if the lock mechanism has gotten full of crud and see if that helps any. If it opens from the outside but not the inside then the child safety latch might be engaged which prevents the door from being opened accidentally from the inside by young children or the inner door handle linkage [in the door] might be broken. If nothing you do helps at all then you many have to remove the inner door panel to get to the latch linkage inside the door and try opening it there by manually moving these linkage rods. [not easy to do when the door won't open] Usually one of these methods will get the door open. Good luck and hope this helps a bit.
