1999 Land Rover Discovery II engine miss

I am working on a friends 1999 Land Rover Discovery. His original complaint was of an engine miss and a coolant leak. Checked out the cooling system and found that the driver's side cylinder head gasket had an external leak. Checked and confirmed no coolant getting into cylinders by removing spark plugs and cranking engine. When I had the plugs out I noticed that cyl. #5 (3rd back on passenger side) was fouled. Removed cylinder heads to fix leaking head gasket. Installed new spark plugs and plug wires (ohm tested wires and found tested at a wide range 5.6k-36.1k ohms, 1 tested open) when reassembling. Started and ran engine after repairs and found that engine still had miss. does anyone have any ideas or suggestions as to my next check? Thank you.

Got it fixed. Silly mistake due to poor quality wiring diagram for spark plug wires on ignition coil. Had wires crossed. Routed correctly and ran like a champ. Thanks

Observe the engine running in the dark to see if there are any spark jumps from the wires or coil, you may have a carbon track.....

My 1999 Land Rover discovery no longer heats the inside cabin, is it a simple fix?

Yeah, I had asked one of my friend, he had a Discovery Series II, it is not equipped with a fuel filter. If problems still exist, how about going to a Auto repair shop. If you need cars information. You can click range rover Indonesia. Don't mind the location. Wait for your good news.

Where is my fuel filter located on my 1999 land rover discovery 11 i just bought?

If your vehicle is a Discovery Series II, it is not equipped with a fuel filter. If it is a Discovery Series I it is in the right rear wheel well towards the front. Hope this helps out.

Default code P1451 Land Rover Discovery II

The code P1451 on a Land Rover is "Leakage Detection Module Motor power stage error Drive cycle A:Signal out of range - above maximum". This is an OBD-II diagnostic system code. As far as I know, a 1995 Land Rover Discovery does not use a OBD-II system. Is it possible that this rover is a later model year

Transfer case oil change- 1999 Land Rover Discovery II

No need for a diagram, to drain the oil, there's a drain plug on the bottom of the transfer box, under the handbrake drum. To fill, the fill plug is about in line with the centre of the handbrake drum and to the left. I think both plugs are 1/2" square. Fill to overflow with Texaco Multi-Gear 75W/90R. Takes about 2L or so.
