Remove door panel and inspect mechanism. Latch at lock end most probably broken.

Most cars you don't have to remove the entire panel. the side mirror has it's own small panel. It is just clipped on. just pry it off to access the nut to remove the wing.

Hi, take the inner door panel off, look around should be a rod that goes from the outside handle to the door latch mechanism, its either broken or unhooked.
This is how i solved a similar problem. When I removed the door panel and looked inside I was able to see the small rod that attaches to the outside handle was not connected. I tried to snap it back in but it wouldn't stay so I pulled the rod over where I could see that the small plastic part on the end of the rod that holds it in place had one side snapped off. Should be easy to fix once I locate the part. Just did this today and haven't looked for the part yet.

there may be an access panel on the door for the side mirror if not sorry but youll have to remove the panel.

i hate working on doors :) limited hand space :) you have to take off door panel on the inside, you will see screws/bolts/alligator clips holding your handle on. The handle and lock are usually 2 seperate components. Remember how everything was when you took it out and be careful with your plastic interior pieces. the plastic film on the inside can be peeled back and then re fastened with some puddy or cheap glue before re installing door panel.

: The keyfob may have lost synch, put the key in the door and turn to lock, hit the lock button and hold for a second. then do the same for unlock.

will it open from the inside? probably gonna have to take door panel off to fix it
