My 99 454 3500 chevy ou runs rough at idle but runs fine at higher rpm:s

wow a 99 an oldie but a goodie , one that old id be looking at all the vac lines , for pin holes,worn spots and cracks , a vac leak will make engne run rough at idle and as you acclerate the vac goes away so hole in hose does not matter

Idles fine,put in drive it run rough pick up speed runs fine ,come down on speed runs rough again 93 cavalier 2.2l

Probably a miss fire,,, fuel or ignition related. or worse valve train problem

2002 Taurus idles rough after warm enginer restart then does fine after reaching medium speeds

you problaby have a missfire, you need to check it out soon or it will have some damage on your catalyctic converter

While driving fine at low speed it shook and engine began to run really rough and idled low. it contiues to start runs good for 3 seconds and begins to be rough again. in park idles rough, giving it gas it...

get a trouble code from Autozone or other store for free. It sounds like a sensor problem to me. The Idle Position sensor for example.

IDLE POSITION CENSOR IT IS ON THE OUTSIDE ONTHE SIDE OF YOUR TBI DISCONNECT THE WIRING IF THE IDLE SMOOTHS OUT IT IS YOUR PROBLEM IF YOU LEAVE IT UNPLUGED IT WILL RUN FINE BUT YOU WILL HAVE A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT

Check and see if the EGR valve is leaking, to check this spray water on it at idle, if the water steams off the valve is leaking and is the source of your problem, also are you sure you hooked the new DPFE sensor up right? re-check it..

Perform a compression test, if okay, look at plugs and ignition items, then look for intake leaks.

I suspect that you just may not feel the misfire at speed.

Intake based leaks do manifest as per your description, but usually missing is just less noticable at higher engine speeds.
