It sounds like you have a crank shaft position sensor problem do you have an obd scanner to help you retrive any codes? they sell a cheap one at oriellys or auto zone that will give you any stored codes in your computer. the sensor is either located by the crank pulley or at the bell housing of the trans.
The first thing I would check would continuity in the circuit.
if source voltage is not present you most likely have an open. Such as a broken wire or blown fuse. Also try to do a wiggle test to see if you have a loose connection anywhere in the circuit.
With the key on,the fuel pump is only activated for 1 second,the off,until the vehicle is turned over again,then it will come on again,checking power to the fuel pump,is not easy to do,,I am thinking maybe the fuel pump is coming on,but the injectors are not pulsating,replace the crankshaft sensor ,it controls spark,and injector pulse.
