Not Warming Up

I'd have to suspect something wrong with the thermostat. It may be opening too fast, or it may be opening too much. Try a Ford thermostat to be sure. The amount of the opening of the thermostat will control flow characteristics, so maybe yours is opening too much. Just a thought.

1992 grand am,I had noticed a puddle of antifreeze where i parked my car, coming from waterpump,I then replaced waterpump and thermostat, flushed radiater 3 times, reconect hoses, battery negative cable,then...

Sounds like you still have air in the system..Does the vehicle have any bleeder screws on the thermostat housing or around the waterpump area..If it does open them up until you get a good stream coming out

Have 1992 Pontiac Grand Am radiator blew out the side and I replaced it, put in 100% antifreeze. Car still over heats, A/C and heater work fine as well as Defrost. What could be the problem?

Use a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and water. Increasing the amount of antifreeze won't improve cooling. Check the rad fans, thermostat and rad cap. Are you losing coolant? Is it leaking or do you have a blown head gasket?

Car says its over heating but its not. already changed thermostat and censor . its a 1992 pontiac grand prix

You replaced the one wire sensor or the two wire sensor? The one wire is for the gauge, the two wire is for the computer.

Engine dies

I used to have the same problem.... Wanted to blow the whole car up....

But anyways: I had the thermostat replaced as well as replaced the throttle sensor. I'm positive the thermostat was the majority of the problem... don't even know if the throttle had anything to do with it but just said screw it.....

Try to replace the thermostat first. It should work!!!

I have 1992 Pontiac Grand Am 3.2 It's Overheating and water back up

Hi,
Your thermostat may be stuck. I'd replace it. It's inexpensive and easy enough to do. Make sure you get a gasket.
Hope this helps... Good luck!
