I have a 2002 Ford F150. Fuse 15 (5 Amp) keeps blowing.

I have a 2002 Ford F150. Fuse 15 keeps blowing and the electric windows won't work and you have to put in neutral to get it to start. I disconnected the cruise control servo connector and now the fuse doesn't blow, but I don't have horn or cruise control now (lessor issue). Best guess at the problem?

Replace nuetral safty switch for gear shifter and check window relays

  • QueAnswer Jan 01, 2011

i have the same problem with my 2002 Ford Expedition. Can't even put it in neutral. I went to Ford and under a recall, they replaced the brake fluid sensing unit which was shorting out and they said it was recalled due to cruise control problems. I never use cruise control but will find out if the fix solves my amp blowing problem.

Replace 15 amp fuse to a 30

NO,NO,NO ! Fuses are electrical protection for the cars wiring installing a higher amp-age fuse takes longer to blow so your wiring gets hotter and starts to melt the insulation and shorts to other wires eventually burning up the harness. With a amp meter test the circuit to see how much power is needed to keep the circuit going if over rated (15 amp circuit taking 20 amps) then install a cycling circuit breaker 10 amp this will blow and cool and blow again continually then with a magnetic amp meter (Gauss meter) you can locate your short the source voltage causes the amp meter to jump as the fault occurs when you pass it meter will stop working.

#15 fuse keeps blowing in my 02 ford f150

If it is Fuse #15, that looks to be an issue with your brake lamps or cruise control.

did you have
recall 05S28. Description: Speed Control Deactivation Switch. Part number 1L1Z-9F924-AA is the last one I have. 14 supplements in the recall series.

If you did not have the recall done, or if the secondary switch has fluid in it, the recall part has failed and needs to be replaced.

If you disconnect this at the end of the master cylinder, and jumper the plug and replace the fuse, does it still blow ?

# 15 fuse keeps blowing, no windows, no wipers, shift locked...What could be the proplem...noticed that cruise control went out a few months back

possibly the cruise cancel switch on the brake master cylinder is shorted, disconnect the switch and replace the fuse and see if everything comes back to life. the switch may be on the end of the master cylinder, Ford has had BIG problems and RECALLS for this switch going bad.

Transmission shifter is stuck in 'P' on my 2002 F150 Fx4 Supercrew, why?

Check to see is your brake lights are coming on when you press the pedal if they do not come on your brake light switch is bad or the fuse for the brake lights is blown

I have a 2002 Ford F150 Supercrew. Fuse 15 keeps blowing and the electric windows won't work and you have to use the shiftlock override to get it out of park. What could be causing the fuse to blow? As...

I had the same problem on my 2001 ford 150 supercrew. My cruise control went out first, then a couple months later I could not put my truck in gear and the windows wouldn't work. Then the #15 fuse (5 amp) kept blowing. One day when I went to work the truck caught fire. The problem was the speed control module. It was under a recall. I took it to ford and since I did not take it to them for the recall they only covered the parts that was initially in the recall. I had to buy the other parts.
