All dashboard/ center console lights out.

Speedometer, tach, and all dashboard lights except transmission indicator, odometer not working and heater controls etc. on center console are also out on my 2004 doddge grand caravan. I disconnected battery to try "reboot" but no effect. Fuses seem okay.

Test the dash first. Put key in hold down trip reset botton. Turn the key to on but don't start. Release the trip botton. Should turn on all dash lights & check for codes in the odometer. If getting codes reply back.

    Hi i got the same problems with my 200 dodge caravan dashboard all lights off. I did what you recomend to do here with the trip reset button, and a 999 code come out. What i need to do next to make all the dashboard light ON?

    Hi i got the same problems with my 2000 Dodge Caravan dashboard all lights off. I did what you recomend to do here with the trip reset button, and a 999 code come out. What i need to do next to make all the dashboard light ON? I replace 2 times the fuse below the dashboard and work for one day and blowout. The other I put one blowout too. This never happened beforre. Please Help!.

you have lost ground to the dash and or steering column, use a ohm meter to search for open circuit

Follow the speedometer cable from the firewall, down to the transmission. It should bolt in the transmission, remove the cable from the transmission, and turn the gear to check to see if speedometer is working, if not, it's most like the speedometer head unit.

Car speedo & odometer sometimes work OK, other times not at all.
Most likely a speed sensor is going bad (most cars and truck do not use mechanical speedometer cables anymore) most sensors are located near the differential in rwd cars or near the drive shaft on the transmission. Best bet is to get a Haynes manual for your car to help locate the speed sensor. Remove it and take it to the auto parts store so you can visually compare it to the replacement. Install the new speed sensor and it should restore your speedometer and odometer.

My 1996 Honda civic speedometer,and odometer do not work at all. The tach works. Occasionally the speedometer works normally but for no discernable reason. No check engine light accompanies this problem.
Your cars speedometer has a broken or frayed cable replace it the Tach is separate from the speedometer/odometer and will work on its own
