There could be many things that can cause this. I'll assume it runs great once it's warmed up. If so change your coolant sensor. It is near the thermostat housing close to the upper rad hose. This action will allow the sensor mode to change to it's proper position & alter engine timing to be correct for start up. Good luck!

My 2002 pontiac montana trans has trouble shifting in cold weather. It is a overdrive trans. it will shift from low to second and sometimes one more time. I can drive it slow after a little bit it will...

You may have a case of morning sickness. in a transmission they are seals the are bad and leak fluid past them. causing a shifting problem when cold as fluid warms up seals swell and your pressures increase allowing a better shift.

2002 Pontiac Montana, No Heat, I put the temp control on

the cabel from the heat dial to the heater box behind the dash could be snaped or jamed thus not opperating the lever which operates the flap which open and closes the heat box next to the matrix. or if your coolant is brown in colour it could be your matrix is clogged with sedament and needs flushing out. or it could be your water pump not pumping coolant round your engine or it could be a knackerd thermostat i hope these will help you id start with the easyest first thermostat

My montana 2002 engine is noisy when start but gone after 2 minute. What's the problem?

depending on the noise, I know the 3.4 had a TSB out for excesssive piston to cylinder clearance, which would cause a light knocking noise on cold start. On the other hand it may be loosing the prime on the oil pump. Kinda of hard to say exactly with actually hearing it. ; <
