Learn more about Lincoln Town Car at the Edmunds.com Car Forums! Read real ... Your problem might just be the actual power window motor itself. ... If your 88 frontdoor is anything like the 99 door I had, look on the bottom.
The fuel pump reset button is commonly located in the passenger compartment behind a panel near the foot boards...passenger side and looks like a relay. The red button may be protruding and simply needs to be pushed back.
The only thing that is in common with both of those windows is the Master Control Window Switch. (The switch panel on the driver's door) A failure of this switch could possibly be the problem, but it is not real likely that it would affect both windows, and only intermmitently. The more likely cause would be that the window motors on both doors are sticking. Try slamming the door fairly hard while someone is holding the switch. If the window starts working, replace the motor.
The box you're referring to is the "driver's side door control module" if it operates when you press on it you might just have a loose solder connection on the pins. Obviously, you've already removed the inner door panel, so... 1. Unhook neg batt cable 2. Loosen the top screw 3. Press the bottom retaining clips on both sides in and pull back, or just pull back, the screw holds it in and the slots keep the thing steady. 4. Refrain from smashing everything and burning the car to the ground 5. Lightly unclip the three clasps holding the control module board in its housing 6. Visually check for damage, discolouration, loose or broken connectors. 7. Repeat step 4 if you don't find anything 8. Multimeter check or 9. Online parts search 10. Forget step 4.?
better if you take it to a mechanic but if you really need to know you just take off the door panel then you take off the bolts then take off the electrical switch. once you recieve the new part you do these steps backwards..
sounds like the brake pads may be metal to metal, that could be the noise problem, but until u have the system tested for the trouble code that is setin the ABS modules memory when the light comes on you are guessing, the Dealer is the only one in most cases that has the scan tool to check ABS trouble codes.
your blend door motor has gone bad under the dash . the blend door motor controls the blend door in the heater box to allow hot or cold air to flow or a mixture of both to reach desired tempreture. this is a hard job cause the dash must be moved back to get to motor.
