I have a 2005 Nissan Armada that won't shift into reverse or park. I left it in nuetral and replaced the battery but the problem is still there. What to do?
IM A TECH AT A NISSAN DEALER I HAVE ONE RIGHT NOW WITH THE SAME PROBLEM IT TURNED OUT TO BE A SHIFT LOCK CONTROL UNIT PART IS $131.00 THE UNIT SHORTS OUT AND DOESNT SEND A GROUND SIGNAL TO THE SHIFT LOCK SELONOID
THANKS ZAKK
I think I have the same problem on my 2006 Armada. It blew a 10 amp fuse. I'm pretty sure it's the shift lock, but my heater/AC controls also stopped working at the same time. Also, at that same time, my trip odometer still works but it resets to zero everytime I shut the engine off (the main odometer still works). My question is, can someone tell me what else is on that same fuse circuit? I have not been able to find that out in any manuals. Thanks in advance, Don

I have the same problem with my 2005 Armada. It has 80K miles and the dealer stated that the shifter lock mechinism is not working. The brake pedal sensor is sending voltage to the shift lock, but the lock will not release. This means it will not shift any further from neutral to go into reverse or park. They stated total shifter assy has to be replaced (around $400).
I have to ask. The new battery, please don't tell me you replaced it because it wasn't in park and wouldn't start. It is pretty clear that you find out why the shifter and the cable or linkage under under your vehicle is not working correctly, before you even attempt to start or use the vehicle.
