2004 Nissan Titan LE 4x4 4LO position indicator light flashes

I have a 2004 Nissan Titan LE 4x4. I've noticed recently during hiway driving in 2 wheel drive my "Transfer 4LO position indicator light" flashes alternatly with the flashing of the "4WD shift indicator light". Whenever I get off the road and put it in 4WD, both high and low work fine. I have also run the judgement self diagnosis which shows your start signal and the flickering of the 4WD warning lamp, to check this problem out. The flickering pattern was a total of 9 blinks. It is telling me that there is more than two switch inputs simultaneously detected due to short circuit of 4WD shift switch. That's as far as the information I have takes me. Can you please steer me in the right direction? Also, while looking under the hood on the drivers side there is a loose hose that comes up next to the air cleaner box and does not connect to anything. The other end of the hose is connected to the top side of the front drive unit. Is this correct that the top of this hose is not connected to anything?

As far as your 4WD light problems, can't help you. The loose hose sounds like the front diff vent hose.

My brake, slip and VDC indicators stay on.

Check brake fluid level, add fluid from sealed container if needed.

Also check for leaking rear axle seals. Look for oil on the inside of rear wheels.

What kind of dealer can not locate spiral cable?
The name of that spiral cable is CLOCK SPRING ,
it's under steering wheel , connecting air bag at wheel to main harness.
I would recommend to change the dealer before your air bag shoot you in the face.

2005 Titan le 4x4. while driving down the road the check engine light flashes and the 4LO flashes the the truck dies. I pull over turn the truck off let it set for a few seconds and then it starts up and...

Sounds like your 4x4 is engaged in 4 low. If your Tach shows High RPM then your still in 4 wheel drive

Start the truck, place in Neutral and try shifting Out of 4 Low,into 2 wheel drive then reverse for about 10-20 feet to try and help it disengage from 4 Low.

4-wheel drive will not lock-Nissan Titan

I checked a consumer advocate site and realized that I am not the only one with this problem. I read that there is a problem with the Nissan Titan tailpipe falling off, well the problem with this is that it melts the wire harnes that goes to the abs and rear wheel sensors. Since this system is all interconnected it causes the 4 wheel drive not to work. In particular I found an unprotected wire harness disconnected by the passanger side rear wheel that was broke, after stripping this wire and reconnecting it, it turned on the 4-wheel drive. Make sure the truck is off and it is in 2 wheel mode when this is reconnected it could cause a blown fuse or an electric shock. Trial an reading free blogs solved my $675 diognostic fee, pass this on I am sure I am not the only one with this problem.
