Question about 1984 Chevrolet El Camino

Only one side of my brake lights work on my el

I have a 84 Chevy El Camino and I am having problems with my brake lights. Only one side of my brake lights are working. I checked the fuse an nothing.

    i assume you have checked the bulb socket with a test light or multimeter and have no voltage there. i would think you have a broken wire, short circuit or loose connector back there. you will need to probe the wiring at several spots to determine where the problem is. i use a safety pin to poke through the wiring and check it with a multimeter. a simple solution would be to run a jumper wire from the side that's working, over to the side that isn't. however, if there's a short circuit, you may run into problems on down the road.

Had new rear end installed bled brakes waring light on dash stayed on. 1987 el camino


if the warning light is for the brake then: check the fluid level and if it is good then the sensor is bad. Hope this helped Tim

86 4.3 litre V6 chevy el camino bogging down, stalling out


most likely a weak fuel pump or a clogged filter. Check fuel pressure with a gauge or as its bogging down spray brake cleaner in the Throttle Body. If this allows it to increase RPM then its the pump or filter.

Fuse should be under dash on left side. Providing that there is power there and power at the signal switch (and bulbs are good) likely there is a problem in the signal switch.

not too bat you just unscrew the faceplate that covers the dashes, unbolt the gauge cluster then u can get at them.
