Possible connection under the dash. could also be bad connection at the switch in the steering wheel or bad switch all together. if it still honks with the alarm, the relay is more than likely still good. something electrical on the switch side of the relay.

My Nissan xtrails horn sounds when the alarm is activated but does not work when the steering wheel button is pressed

It seems there is something wrong in the steering wheel horn pad. I would strongly suggest you take it to an experienced Dealer. The steering wheel has an airbag which could go off causing injury. This would have to be taken out to get access to the horn pad system and connections. Probably all you could do, would be look at the bottom of the steering column and see if any wiring connections have come undone. Other than that, I wouldn't go playing with an airbag steering wheel.

The alarm should use the same relay, so it would have to be in the wiring between the steering wheel and the relay, or the horn pad you checked.

V50 horn doesn't work

Press panic button on the remote to check if horn is broken or if the switch in the steering wheel does not work.
Also check fuse for steering wheel module.

Horn won't honk from horn button on wheel. Horn works from panic button. How can I check button on steering wheel? The car is a 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis. Thanks for help.

I replaced the horn relay which is located inside of fuse panel under the hood of car on the firewall, have someone push button to be able to hear a clicking sound coming out of the correct relay, then trade out relay of the same and see if horn works

The HORN Is a GROUND CONTROLLED BUTTON you need to FIRST Check under CENTER STEERING WHEEL Cover to see if it has a Bad Commectiot, After Asuring this there Is c CLOCK Spring UNDER Steering Wheel that is Fairly Common for Failing.

The FOB / Remote Utilizes a Different Part of the Curcuit to Activate Horn, I Hope this Helps you With your Problem as Im Sure of All that I Advised. Remember to RATE ME !!

Horn will not sound from steering but okay otherwise

you need to Check the Wire inside the Steering wheel, When Grounded by pressing horn button the relay will send the 12 volts to Horn,

You Also could and Please Re-check the Color of wire for the Horn SHOULD be a Black Wire in the wire loom Under the Dash on the Column and If you Ground down the Black wire from Under the dash, You would Find out If it is In fact the Steering wheel it self,

you could also add a Second Button on the Dashboard

black wire to Button and then to Ground body,
