That is because they run off different systems, they both have thier own relays, normally the common fault with flashers not working is either, fuse, or relay (flasher repeter unit), if you turn your turn signals left or right can you hear a click click click noise? if not its your flasher unit, hope this helps

My turn signals aren't working. Where do I replace the fuse?

first,, if the light comes on but doesn't flash, its not the fuse you need but the flasher unit, either way , the fuses are under the dash on the drivers side, by the left side of the dash,, the flasher unit is usually behind the fuse box , the flasher will fit 1996-2001 cars

Sounds like you need to replace the 4-Way emergency flasher button because it is stuck causing your problem. Disconnect that flasher button and that should solve the problem. If it does replace it and your problem will be solved.

Stop replacing things and turn off your hazard lights. If this doesn't fix you may have to replace your steering column turn signal switch. Youer hazard lights aren't working likely to a blown fuse.

It sounds like my signal lights are on when thry aren't! the clicking is driving me nuts. 1999 GMC jimmy SLT. Please help

This may be an issue with the flasher relay or the multifunction/turnsignal switch which should also include the hazard switch.Try wiggling the turn signal switch and or the hazard flasher button when this occurs to see if it will stop.If it does the issue is most likely in the switch.

Turn Signals quit working

Sounds like the turn signal flasher is going bad. The easy way to find wher the flasher is hidden is turn the turn signal on and find the clicking, that is the flasher. The emergency flashers work fine because they use a different flasher.

1997 Chevy Tahoe both turn signals stopped working

Sounds like the flasher unit to me. Normally the emergency flasher and turn signal are separate.
