Gas pedal reving up and not relaxing.

I have a 2008 Santa Fe. While driving on a highway in the summer and stepping on the gas pedal to allow more power for overtaking another car, the gas pedal did not ''relax'' itself on its own. More recently the gas pedal also reved up without relaxing. I put the car in neutral and went off the road to stop the car. It seesm to be a very same issue for which Toyota 's has recalls? Is the Hyundai gas pedal also munufactured by CTS? Or who makes the gas pedal system for Hyumndai? Have other owners brought up the same issue to Hyundai?

I have had a problem on a 2008 Santa Fe with the gas pedal going to idle while driving. I shut the car off and turned it back on and it behaved normally so I drove it to the dealer. It had triggered the check engine light and the Hyundai mechanics were able to read a code that told them that the problem was in the sensor on the pedal. They replaced it under warranty. No problem since.

2004 Hyundai Santa Fe loses exceleration

This is usually caused by failure of the accelerator pedal position sensor, but can also be caused by the throttle control motor. I would test the sensor first. If it fails, replace it. If it passes, che k the wiring and connectors for continuity to the pcm and throttle. If wiring is good, replace the throttle controller.

2003 Hyundai Santa Fe was driving down the highway vehicle started losing power but was still started. I pulled over it smelled like gas so I shut the engine off. Vehicle would never restart.

Not enough information.
Normally the first things one thinks of is clogged fuel filter, failed purge valve causing too much tank vacuum, water in the gas, or even PVC foam coating the air mass sensor.
But none of those things causes a gas smell.
I would then think of a leaking hose connection, bad plug wire, weak spark, etc.
However, we would need to see or smell where the gas odor was coming from?
A leak is extremely serious because it could cause a fire, but very easy to see and fix.
An ignition problem would be harder to see and would require looking for fouled plug that was not firing well.
So you need to open the hood and tell us more.

seems like engine goes to "save run" mode. the reason why is stored in the onboad computer usualy. have someone read that error code with an OBD interface, and act accoringly to that code.

Reving problem on 2001 santa fe

when you try to rev it up does it sort of rev up and down like a rythm?
If so that is a safety thing to keep people from blowing up there engines. My truck does that too. It sounds like it's not getting gas at hi rpm's. Only floor it when your driving don't try to show off the rev you'll blow it
