I have a 2004 jaguar X Type it has been setting missfire and transmission codes. I have replaced all plugs and coils. The ck eng light stays on and the only code is P1000. I have looked up the code and got tow definitions. One is incomplete readiness and the other is internal PCM fault. The local dealer says it is incomplete readiness. If the PCM is bad it would be covered under Federal Emission Warranty. This car only has 62k miles on it. It does seem to idle a little rough atidle. Please advise

P1000 cannot be cleared as its a permenant code and does not afect the car. Check for water ingress at the ecu connector

  • blustu May 01, 2011

If the Dianosis test Code P1000 is flagged after DTCs have been cleared, all engine management OBD diagnostic monitor drive cycles HAVE NOT BEEN COMPLETED. Seehttp://www.bluejag.co.uk for further details on this

well the light is blinking because of the misfire it is setting a P0300 engine missfire detected, a plugged fuel injector will cause that misfire or a incorrectly gapped spark plug, also a bad egr valve will cause a rough idle and acceleration problems.but for a correct fix with out throwing parts at it will have to be done by a pro

Engine missfire

Get your local garage to put a scanner on the car. The early s-type used to suffer from ignition coil faults. If a fault has been hinted towards a specific coil then swap to a different cylinder and see if the fault follows wich will indicate a coil fault.

Has the vehicle had its spark plugs changed? every 70.000 miles as they tend to fail if left unchanged. Intake manifold requires removing to replace bank 1 plugs.

Also check the small rubber elbow on the end of the plastic beather pipe wich runs throught the intake manifold branches. Elbow is located at the rear of the engine

Hope that helps

2004 Dodge Grand Caravan engine light on, missfire

That is a code for the secondary (spark) circuit on cylinder number 3. It is usually caused by a bad connection between the coil and the plug (take the coil off the plug and check for moisture in the boot). If not, it might be a bad coil...

I have a 2004 Lincoln avaitor and this week i noticed after sunday filling up with gas it started missing on my way to work monday am. when i got to about 40 to 60 mph the truck starts missing. It has 75k...

Once scanned and the codes suggest missfiring, Check your ignition coils. There are one unit atop the each sparkplug, and it is recommended to replace all upon performing a tune-up (costly). Purchase them on ebay and save $$!!Ford/Lincoln/Murcury vehicles with DIS and COPs (coil over plugs) systems are known for these coils to fail around 70-100k miles, typical early symtoms are random sputtering/missfire around 40-60mph with foot slightly on accellerator. If this is the problem, it will progress to stalling, severe missfire, very poor MPGs, rough idle!!Hopefully this helps

Missfire on number 3 coil on 2001 S type Jaguar 3.0 V6 Sport

Check the igniter module.
I assume you have a ecu code telling you #3 coil is missfiring ?
If so also check the crankshaft angle sensor .
If it is not an error code do a compression test and check the injector.
Hope this helps
