The idle air control valve may be bad or just needs cleaned out. idle air control valve acts the same as a choke. if it is messing up it will cause engine not to run right.

Engine will not start when hot

Try holding the throttle to 1/2 when cranking, then release the accelerator when the vehicle is running. If the car starts when you do this, replace the air filter and check the operation of the throttle bypass. Sometimes with older cars, it is necessary to do this EVERY TIME when the car is hot... sometimes easier just to hold the throttle to 1/2 than to fight with it...

My saab stalls out when the engine gets warm

May mean you have a bad crank sensor or throttle body. Have the crank sensor and throttle body checked. Replace if needed.

I have a 2002 saab 9-3 tid se and was wondering where to find the starter motor on it. We think it is sticking and need to check it out?

FROM TOP ENGINE STARTER COMES OUT THROUGH THE REAR AND BETWEEN THE INTAKE MANIFOLD AND MASTERCYLINDER.YOU HAVE TO REMOVE AIR MASS METER TO THROTTLE HOUSING ELBOW TO GIVE YOU MORE SPACE TO REMOVE STARTER.

Saab 95 2002 3.0l v6 turbo. when warm, starts to

Have you had your mass air meter checked or replaced? This is the unit attached to the air intake hose behind your air filter. It senses the air temperature, speed, density, etc... and adjusts the fuel/air ratio to keep the vehicle running at "peak" performance. Also, check your TPS (throttle positioning sensor) it can also cause the problem you speak of. The TPS adjusts your engine speed/idle etc. and also compensates for hot/cold changes etc. This is roughly a $35.00 part and in most cases usually an easy fix.

When i start the engine make noise for few seconds

It sounds like you need to check and replace your engine oil and oil filter. This will happen when it is cold and dirty and it takes time to get to the oil ports in the engine. I hope this helps. Don't forget to rate my answer. Thanks.

Saab 9-3 engine into 9-5

the engines are different model engines since they run off the computer im thinking that you need to set the computer to the 9.3 since the specs run the 9-5 at different frequency the enigine modules still think its a 9-5 in which you want the computer to run it at 9-3 this gives the high throttle reving

you need a laptop and your cars software to set the idle control for vehicle and possibily the proper idle control module for engine

Saab 9-3 1999 convertible

On 1999 9-3 models there is a fuel filter located under the pass rear door. However if this was plugged it would not kick back in after a short time. Typical suspects are crankshaft position sensor which will work well on a cold engine and intermittently cut off and on when the engine is hot. Its a cheap sensor, and very easy to change. Possibly check condition of spark plugs and the DI cassette as well. Also check function of Fuel pressure regulator. Any fault codes stored (CEL on?)
