Temp. Gauge reads over last red bar. Engine runs fine... This happens after one minute after starting engine. New temp. sensor.and had a radiator flush. water pump is working as well as the thermostat.
Do i need a new instrumental cluster? or is there another relay or sensor that sends the info to the gauge that i can replace.

Firstly - DO NOT run engine, when guage reads hot, as this will cause costly damage to head gasket & alloy engine head.
The fact that guage takes 1min to read HOT, would confirm the guage IS working properly.
So, other components which are likely to cause hot readings (in this order) are:
- lack of coolant (or leakage somewhere): is there sufficient green coolant at the correct level? Top up mixture to correct level. Repair any leaks.
- collapsed radiator hose: when engine is cold, start engine, then quickly watch both upper & lower radiator hoses to see if either begins to flex inwards (collapse). Replace if either hose is collapsed.
- bad/incorrect thermostat rating : when replacing thermostats, you must ensure it is of the SAME temp rating (they all differ).
- Incorrect Temp sensor rating: the ratings of this sensor must be within manufacturer's spec's.
- bad waterpump: the engine relies on the waterpump to distribute the coolant throughout the entire system. If waterpump is faulty, coolant will not flow quick enough, causing overheating.
If you still believe all of the above components are OK, then have your cooling system "pressure tested". This test should be done, before looking further at other electrical components.

use a termo laser to check temp of coolant at filler cap ,with cap off run vehicle till you have hot heat coming out of your heater then check with laser. if it reads above 140 then you know 2 things . either the therm sensor is going bad or the temp gauge is bad , make sure the radiator fans come on ,if they do and you have good heat then you have bad gauge.
it could very well be a bad gauge. when it shows the engine to be overheated or at the least very hot, check the actual temp at the water outlet where the upper radiator hose attaches to the engine. use a non contact thermometer to check the temp so as not to get burned in the process. if the thermometer reads way different than the gauge, the gauge is bad.
To review, you have two temp sensors, one for the gauge on the dash and one for the computer. If you unplug the sensor for the computer the reading will be minus 30 degrees or over 300 which will make it very hard to start. Unplugging the sensor for the gauge would have no effect on the computer. According to the wiring diagram, the wire for the temp gauge is green, and the wires for the temp sensor for the computer are yellow and black.
Hi dakota_love what we need to verify is if your cooling fan is operating properly, what you need to do is first bring temperature close to redline
(but don't hit redline it may cause a blown head gasket) than you need to open up the hood with the engine running (and temperature close to redline)at and see if any of the cooling fan in front of the radiator is coming on, please update once this part of diag. is completed so we know which way to direct for further diagnostic.
That wire you are unplugging is pinched and being shorted to ground ! You need to trace that wire until you find it . Also if anyone has done any repairs recently you may want to start looking in that area .
hi from uk from your symptoms of what happened re temp guage risen suddenly it would indicate the temp sender unit on the engine has blown ie is earthing to engine via its screwthreaded body this is just a matter of replacing with a new sender unit hope this helps
