Check power to the fuel pump in the tank, but first check the fuses for the fuel pump and usually there is a relay. have to ensure that it is closing. if it is possible swap the relay with another one that is working from another accessory like a/c comp etc.. hope this helps

I have a 98 silhouette Oldsmobile van. It was running great earlier today and then all of a sudden it turned off. Its acting like its not getting any gas. I turn the key and it sounds like its going to...

Is the gas getting to the engine? First try swapping the fuel pump relay with any similar one in the car. If ti starts and runs the relay is bad. If not check the ASD relay, if you have one. If its bad it also will not start. Next pull the fuel line off at the intake manifold, place in a container, crank engine is fuel coming and good fuel flow? If OK, check air filter not clogged. All OK, verify sparks at all cylinders.

Fuel system wiring diagram

which engine? 2.5 or 4L ,,, always engine first...... ill post for 4liter.
the first test on all EFI, (varies rules) but here it is.
many cars only have power to the pump cranking and running (ONLY)
(crash and burn rules... dig it?)
so use the meter this time and crank.
fuses first check.

btw, alldata.com has that, login and look, like us.
see schem linked here. its real simple and is online. (goggle)

this EFI pump in 1993, is 100% controlled by the ECU. at all times
Fuse 1, blown kills pump dead.
software (firm) in the ECU controls this.
http://www.fixkick.com/look/odds-ends/jeep/93wrangler-EFI-4L.jpg

if cranking , pump is dead, check coil for 12v, on fuel pump relay
if not 12v across coil, cranking the ECU is bad.
or ECU detects spark loss, again, crash and burn logic in the ECU.

the ecu monitors spark at all times. if bad it cuts fuel
even if spark is GOOD. ! and spark feed back is bad.
that is pin 44 on ECU is dead......... for any reasons.....

92 tercel wont start.

Make sure the white wire to the pump has a good ground connection to the chassis. Then trace the power through the circuit opening relay. This is the most likely problem, as this is a dual relay. The relay coil gets battery positive from the starter relay, which you know is working or the starter would not turn. Check to make sure the white wire has a good ground connection. see diagram below.

Check connections on fuelpump.
It's probably time to change the fuelpump anyway.

1993 Corrolla fuel pump does not make noise. put in new pump checked realays according to manual, still no noise at fuel pump I am at a loss. Any ideas

So you replaced the fuel pump because it didn't make noise? did you check for power at the Blue/Black wire? The Circuit Opening Relay powers the pump. Make sure to check ALL the fuses. Ignition and EFI fuses? does the Check Engine ligth come on with key on? it should, did you check the EFI MAIN relay

My 1993 Chevy K1500 will not turn over

"Trying to start" is turning over, also called cranking.

remove the fuel line from the carb, disable the ignition, point the fuel line into a can or jar, then turn the engine over.

If no fuel come out, you have a fuel delivery problem.

If fuel comes out, re-attach, look down the throat of the carburetor, operate the throttle, and see if any fuel squirts out.

If not, the float might be hung up.

If fuel squirts, fuel cannot get into the air stream from the float chamber. Time for a carb rebuild.

I would like to increase my fuel efficiency of my 1989 toyota tercel by going EFI, however, I'm not sure that it is worth the cost. Could I pull the EFI from a newer Tercel at a salvage yard? Or buy a used...

I would get it from a junk yard. you need the fuel pump- i would get an external one life from some supra's. you need an ECU with wires and the intake manifold. my advice is with your car your not going to notice much of a difference, its already good on gas. Save your money and buy another one. Best of luck to you!

No gas to manifold, car will start adding gas to throttle body

yes gas should be coming out of the fuel line at the motor. if not the pump is bad. you will need to drop the tank to get to it as it is in the tank
