How can we repair or replace the cupholder that springs out from the console on our 2004 buick regal - one of the swing-out cupholder pieces came off

did you look at Buick dot com, to see if they still sell parts to that old car? and this part? online, ???
if not , get one from a wrecker.

You can either go to the dealership to purchase one. Or to a salvage yard. The salvage yard will be quite a bit cheaper. And being an 01 the cup holder should still be like a new one.

it is a few resistors that need to be replaced/ resoldered.

You should be able to remove the trim plate that where the shifter is, it the cover and from there you will be able to replate the bulb for the selector window,

94-99 luminas i think are all the same as far as the dash and the console etc.... At any rate i ran into this problem so i can tell you what to do.
#1 Remove the ash tray by pulling it out n pressing the silver tab down while pulling it completely out of the dash
#2 Remove the four 9/32 nuts around the perimeter of the black metal housing that held the ashtray in place
#3 there are 2 more hidden 9/32 nuts right under the trim piece under the stereo. If you aren't careful you will bust ur dash apart and have to replace this all. The easy way i did it was i pulled out the broken cupholder and sawed it in half then pushed it back in so i gained easier access to the bolt locations as they are quite hidden, next pull up the bottom right corner of the radio trim piece on the dash and keep it propped with a flathead screwdriver and remove the final 2 nuts. Twist loose the cigarette lighter hookup, bend back the 2 tabs holding the old cupholder in the track to remove it and ur ready to re-install ur new cupholder

You have to remove the back "deck" from inside the car
