I have facelifted my freelander and i am having problems with the headlights, as the original units were h4 (single bulb two beams) to twin h7 units, the problem is that when i switch between dip and main beam i lose one or the other as apposed to both being on?

Its a wiring issue.

Your dip switch is selecting one or t'other rather than turning the high (second) lamp on and off, no?

You will have to mod the wiring so the dip lamp is always on when h/l's are on and the main beam is brought on as well when you go to main.

This may involve fitting a new switch and modding the wiring feed. i.e H7 switch and wiring.

My Headlights are so dim that I cant drive at night in my 1997 Chevy Blazer. How Can I get them brighter?

You have to go back to the route cause & time
frame of the problem

Did you check voltage & ground at each lamp connector,
when they first got dim & you started to resolve things?

Why converter to a different bulb?
I don't know the current draw of the oe vs: the H4,but
that has to be considered

Obviously the alternator output would be up there at the
same time your checking lamp connector voltage.

Problem--Voltage Drop somewhere or too much resistance

My mitsubishi verada 97 requires H7 light bulbs although some one has fitted H4 bulbs which are three pronged. H7 are 2 pronged but narrower and will not fit socket. Is there an adapter or a workaround....

Veradas use a special two pronged bulb. I'm not sure if it is a two pronged h4 or a larger h7.
Switch you're high beam lights to the normal beams for the time being (assumeing they are working fine) then take it to mitsubishi for new bulbs

How do I replace the headlight on my VW City Golf 2008

you should have an h7 bulb, once to take the rubber grommet behind the headlight, you will see the h7 socket, which has to wires in it, gently pull thi socket off, then there is a small wire holding the bulb in place, gently unhook the wire from the one side. and turn it to the other side and the bulb shoudl come out... replace the bulb putting it in the same way the other bulb came out.. notice the h7 bulb has a small notch on one side. it has to go in the same way or the wire will not hook back on. once it has been placed, turn the wire over the base of the bulb and hook it again, then put the socket back on the bulb and put the grommet back on the headlight.
