Question about 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

My blazer sputters when cold and hesitates when accelerating at high speeds (50+mph) sometimes backfires under drivers feet when cold and sputtering

Check the throttle position sensor. tap on it lightly with a screwdriver handle while truck is running to see if there is any change

Your timeimg is off if theres a distuributor there just might be u need to losen the bolt right below the distuributor with car off once loose start car it only needs to be loose enough to turn startcar turn ur tarding it upping the amount of gas and air intake u absoreb turn it to the right ur engine should idle hire dont turn to must at all little by littleas u turn hairturns at a time get dont shut hood alll way get in go down the street punch it if it feels good gets it and goes ur good if not keep repeating prosscess until it feels right to u

I have a 96 c1500 with the 5.7 vortec, the truck has trouble shifting and cruising at high speeds. it accelerates fine to a certian point then starts to sputter and backfire and has trouble shifting.
Check cap, rotor and wires. Also possible is a cracked distributor housing.

Acceleration promlems
Check for fuel supply problems as it sounds that at sustained high speed the fuel supply is not good enough. Possible pump dosen't have enough capacity

check the firing order as it indicates 2 wires crossed

Rough idle, sputtering, and backfiring.
try turning ur idle up its the pin on the throtle body just make sure u tuen the engine off and on again fter each adjustment to reset ur computer on ur engine

they might have not put the proper gap on the plugs..and might have over filled the engine with too much oil..

first thing is the engine light on?
these cars had problems with the on plug ign coils and if this is a misfire the comp will tell you which cyl is the problem.
