I HAVE A 1999 BMW Z3 ROADSTER. IT HAS A HALF TANK OF GAS AND SOUNDS LIKE THE FUEL PUMP IS ON WHEN YOU OPEN THE IGNITION. WHEN I TRY TO START IT, IT CRANKS BUT WILL NOT START. WHAT ELSE COULD BE THE PROBLEM? ALSO WHERE IS THE FUSE BOX OTHER THAN THE ONE UNDER THE HOOD? THANKS

If you can heard the fuel pump noise and sure that you have enough fuel, then it may be you have a problem with ignition system or faulty crankshaft sensor.

P1188 and p0170 on bmw z3 roadster

p1188 is fuel pump and p0170 is same problem but with air flow sounds like drawing in too much air and not much fuel. pump might be shot.

I have a 1997 BMW Z3 roadster. I filled my tank drrove a mile and the gas gauge falls back to empty. What could possibly be the problem

Could be a short in a wire from your fuel gauge to the fuel tank where the actual fuel gauge sending unit is probably located.

My 1996 BMW Z3 will not let me put gas in it at a normal speed. I have to put it in very slowly! Any idea what's wrong?? Thanks, Robin

Well something is blocking it... Some vehicles have a plastic ball in the pipe between the cap and main tank, the purpose for this is to block anyone trying to siphon gas out of your tank, but still let gas seep past downward. These become more common as gas prices raise. I'd lay odds your car has one and it's stuck somehow. Then again you never know if some kid came by and stuck a sock in there or something. Try taking an opened up coat hanger or something to the like and probe down the pipe. Maybe you can un-lodge the ball. If you feel something soft, there is something wrong!

BMW Z3 ignition cut off?

you can test the coil by moving its location and see if it behaves the same way on a different cylinder ie. misfires, I was also going to suggest that you recheck the power connections to each coil
