What does the 'V' in the tire size 205/70VR15 stand for? I have a '88 Jaguar XJ6. Can I replace these tires with 205/70R15 without the 'V'? Also how can I or is it easy to replace the 15" wheels with 17" wheels? Thank you very much for your time!

V is up to 149mph. You should never go "down" a rating on the basis of "I never do that speed" because the rating takes into account lateral forces induced by cornering.

See link for full range of speed ratings

You maybe able to change the 15's for 17's but only by reducing the tyre profile (in your case the 70) but need to be aware of hitting the bodywork.

Will 195-60r15 fit on my 2001 Pontiac Montana

The original tire size is 215/70R15 and you're asking for 195/60R15.
According to tire size chart, you are more than 3% diff overall size diameter. So if you drive your van at 60km/h your speedometer will read 54.1km/h.
I would say no it won't fit without changing the speedometer reading.
Hope it helps.

I have a 2007 Toyota Corolla, and I've lost one of the wheel covers. What size is the tire, typically, so I can search for a replacement? thanks.

If you look on the side of the tires you will find the tire size. It will be similar to 185/70R15. The R15 refers to the rim size which is 15 inches in this case.

What size tires do I buy for 1997 toyota camry le

If you look at the tires that are already on the car there will be a tire size on them. It will be something like 205/70R15. Whatever size tire is on it know is the size tire you will want to replace then with.

Got 235/75R15 tires on rear. whats the smaller size tires could go on front.

Don't know if you have 2 wheel drive, or 4 wheel drive...if 4 wheel drive Ford would only recom/mend the same size for the front...with 2 whell drive you can run a smaller front size tire...but don;t know why you would except for looks...:) The size smaller than the 235/75/R15 is 225/75R15 and next smaller is 215/75R15 and so on... A lower profile size would be 235/70R15 or 225/70R15 and so on...I would not recommend using anything smaller than these...the smaller sizes don't always cost less anymore...

What are the right size of tires to put on to replace the old ones

best way to tell is to look at the old ones. The size will be clearly marked on the sidewall. Also, it may have the tire size on the driver's side door jam, where the weight limitation sticker is.

What is the tire size for a 1995 Mercury Marquis?

On Firestone's site it says for a 1995 Grand Marquis with the handling package, the tire size is P225/60R16 with or without the TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system).

For a 1995 Grand Marquis GS/LS with or without TPMS it says the tire size is P215/70R15.

The page I entered in the info is here:
