I have a 1991 buick skylark,3.3 l. It started dying when hitting the gas at the bottom of a hill. Slowly started dying here and there. Then it would only idle until I touched the gas and it would die....

How do you know the fuel pump is good ? Did you do a fuel pump pressure test with a test gauge ? Did you test the fuel pump electric circuit ? Is the check engine light on ? There is a fuel pump relay under the hood engine compartment . The right front behind the headlamp are four relays , the one to the left is the fuel pump relay .I'll send a link to a video on testing the circuit !There also is a fuse in the wiring near those relays , it's power for the fuel pump relay ! Or you have a bad fuel pressure regulator ! A plugged catalytic converter could do this , need to pull the O2 sensor an do a back pressure Test ! I have a 1999 Chevy Silverado 5.3, It won't start. I drove it home, parked it, and the following morning it wouldn't start. On a couple of occasions, i have had a difficult time starting it. On both of those occasion, I waited about 30 minutes, then cranked it and it started with no issues following. I have replaced all the spark plugs, spark plug wires, fuel filter, fuel pressure regualtor, crank postion sensor, I have cleaned all the injectors, checked the injectors with a noid light. I have checked the fuel pressure what matched the specs in the repair manuel, checked all the fueses, i have a fully charged battery, what should i try next, taking it to a dealer? I have not replaced the fuel pump, that was the last thing i wanted to replace. any suggestions?

Ok i got a 2002 saturn vue..code was saying bank 1 bank 2 running lean..the vue runs perfect ,sometime at park it would idle hi.anyways i have replaced the mass air flow unit..turn off light, comes back on...

I had exactly the same problem .Mine was corrected with replacing the O2 sensors .The sensors cost less than $30 each but cost about 20 mins labor per sensor .So if you got an honest mechanic the total cost will be around $130 .

2000 Malibu will not idle

4000 rpm and flucuating is normal. rpm limiter. If its too rich need to find out why. first thing to check is the fuel pressure regualtor, take off the vac hose to it, and if there is fuel in the hose, the regulator is bad and will need replacement. that is only 1 thing that could cause rich running but is always the first thing to check. if its running that bad there should be a service eng soon light on.

My 1999 GMC Sierra wont start. It has the 5.3l V8

Sounds like a security problem that is preventing starting. It will run for a few seconds and then die.

This could be a number of things but i think that your problem sounds like a vacuum leak or an EGR problem. Try listening for leaks and try un-plugging the EGR solenoid valve one time.
