Hi Steve, merry xmas and a happy new year to you. my suggestion is to give up smoking. failing that, you might want to look under the knee area as you sit in the drivers seat, there might be a panel that pops down which has fuses in behind it, or the kick panel, where your feet sit as you drive. most fuses are under the hood of your car. if you arent confident of finding the fuse box, best to leave it to a techy to do it for you.

when replacing a battery on newer model vehicles they have a system memory which runs off the battery. when you disconnect the battery you erase the vehicles memory (radio presets, clock, computer settings etc.) you gotta hook up a 9-volt battery to your ciggerate lighter port before disconnecting the battery. that way you dont lose your car's ECU memory.

CHECK THE PANEL FUSE.FUSE WOULD BE LOCATED IN THE INTERIOR FUSE BOX ON THE LEFT OF THE STEERING COLUMN.

the lighter is shorted very common issue replace it.
