I have a 1999 Grand Prix GT (2-dr) and the driver's window wont go down anymore I just had the moter in the door changed a yr ago so I was thinking it could be the switch. What do you think and if you think if could be can you tell me how to change the switch I had it changed in 2001 and I know it took the guy about 5mins to do but didn't really pay attention to how he did it

Before You do anything, Check the wiring in the door jamb inside the rubber protector, The wires are famous for breaking inside the rubber boot from flexing back and forth.

I have a 1999 pontiac grand prix the window will not go up ? I have juice to the motor when i push the switch in the down position but nothing in the up. Do you think a switch or may be the motor?

I have a 99 grand prix, Its definitely the switch, I have fixed mine 4 times in 5 yrs (they are defective) I know because I have 2 grand prix and they both fail. Anyway, you can fix them if you know how, if you dont, see if you can borrow a friends grand prix switch to replace and try before you buy one (just a thought) and if you dont need your old switch, you can give it to me.lol. Hope this helped, It sucks not being able to roll your window down because of the fear that it wont come back up. Especially in the winter/Rainy Season...Let us know if this helped.

My 97 grand prix windows wont go down my passgener window qiut first now my drivers side quit 2 my motors r good in both sides

Pop the door panel off, replace the actuator. go to the salvage yard and get a working one for $16.00 You've got an upper and lower nut/bolt on the actuator and 3 screws holding down the motor bracket. Very easy fix. make sure the window rides in its track when you're done. If not, you'll burn the motor out after three tries.

Drivers side window on 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix won't power up...could it be regulator? Thanks

Could be, but first try checking the switch , that might be the problem. I have 2 grand prix and the switches fail, I think they are defective

Power window on 1999 pontiac grand prix gt 2 door driver side broke. motor still works but window wont stay up.

what I would recommend is that you will have to test the window actuator first. You will need to remove the door panel to get at the actuator. From there, just jump the actuator to see if the window goes up or down. Don't worry about which terminal is positive or negative, they are switched back and forth by the control switches.

Installed new motor and regulator right door window goes down but not up pont grand prix 2door gt

Check the wires between the drivers door and body.Slide the rubber boot back far enough to look at the wires. They sometimes brake here from the door opening and closing all the time.If the wires are good you could have a bad drivers switch.Good luck.

2001 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX GT REAR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW REGULATOR

take off door panel. the panel is held on by plastic anchor pins. just put a screw driver between panel to pry up then pull out by hand. on the door handle pry slightly on plastic handle housing. there should be a torque screw or 2 behind the handle. "do not " force this part off. this is the integrity portion of the door. it should come right off after you losen the torque screws. unhook eletric harness and I do believe there are 3 mount bolts for the window regulator and 2 for the window. you can access the 2 bolts for the window by sliding the wind by hand up or down and access through one of the open bolt holes. i just did this about 3 weeks ago. its not a hard job at all. partstrain.com is where i bought my window regulator. i only paid about $60 which included shipping. on a scale of 1-10 i would give this a 3. not hard but a little frustration due to limited space.

99 grand prix gt window regulator?

Noises are deceptive at best.

Until you pull the door panel you really can't be sure what it is.

It could be a rusted rail or the window fell off the rail , or, or,o or..you have one of them look and hunt problems.

Most window issues are easily fixed if you have the slightest mechanical apptitude, it won't be that hard.

I hope this helps you some
