2003 Audi A6 Logo

The Audi A6 2002 model I have started with the central locking not working, via key fob and then completely (aka unlocking manually or pressing the internal buttons). Now the alarm goes off when anything is unlocked until the ignition is started. The hazards/indicators stay on (static not flashing) when the engine is off, this is rectified by taking out the fuse but then the indicators do not work properly when driving. The relay has been replaced and all fuses appear to be fine. Any suggestions please?

I have the same problem - it is the central locking controller found under the passenger seat footwell carpet. If water has got into the footwell it will form a pool in the control unit. The connectors will rot after time and perhaps the unit PCB inside the non-waterproof casing may also be damaged. It is not easy to get at this - remove the glovebox and wrench away at the moulded carpet and see if there are signs of damage (especially you are aware of water ingress).

12/6/2010 2003 bmw 325xi: Key does not manually lock/unlock driver door...but still works in ignition and trunk...central locking system still works to lock/unlock all doors(including driver) from...

If the key turns in the lock, but does nothing, then the linkage has become disconnected or broken. The key is mechanical to the lock and the lock has a electrical switch to operate the central locking unit. Could be a simple broken clip from the lock barrel. Hope this helps

Battery in key fob went dead need to reset keyfob audi tt 2000

hi you can do this but you will have to have a key that does not have a remote/fob on it ( basically just go get one cut cheaply ) then to reprogram keys/key fob's first using the key without fob, turn ignition on ( do not turn over, just to position 2) then lock drivers door with other key ( do not use fob, just the key itself with fob now complete the following within 30 seconds within 5 seconds( of locking the car) press the unlock button on the first key once ( this programs that key as key memory1) the indicators should flash once to indicate signal received wait 5 seconds then press unlock on key fob vehicle should then unlock meaning key fob has been programmed and programming ended open door turn ignition off , and that's it, it should work if you have more than 1 key with fob, do the same as above but instead of pressing unlock once, you do it twice, if third key 3 x if fourth key 4 x etc etc,

Audi a3 1.9 tdi se 5 door. Complete faliure of central locking system and electric windows. Can anyone offer any suggestions, or has experienced this problem with any audi mode. Thanksl

what ever you do don't go to a audi shop as it will cost you a £1000.00 with out vat and £32.50 for every half hour of there time. try to resync. switch engine on with spare key and remove the remote fob from the key, shut the door and lock the door with the key within 5 seconds press unlock on the first remote to be coded untill the indicators flash once, wait 5 seconds and press unlock again to confirm this memory position. Remove ignition key and test remote if o.k repeat for other remotes adding extra positions by sitting indicators flash. position 2 will be two flashes. if no flashes then get the fault memory read. This may take a few attempts and lots of sweaing. Regards Samantha

2002 bmw 530i key does not (remotely) unlock doors or trunk but they work fine manually.

Unlock vehicle. Enter vehicle. Close driver's door. Switch ignition ON and OFF. Remove ignition key. Press and hold unlock button. Press lock button briefly 3 times within 10 seconds keeping unlock button depressed. Release unlock button. Some models: LED flashes slowly for 10 seconds. Some models: Central locking system locks and unlocks rapidly to indicate correct programming. Repeat above procedure if central locking system does not work and LED does not flash or LED flashes continuously.

Program a remote key for 03 A6

I have an A4 and did this to re-program my key:

1. used the key to start the car...then turned it off
2. put the key in the driver door (door closed)
3. pressed the lock button on the key fob once
4. turned the key to lock the door.

This is basically the steps in the owners manual, but the car must be started with the key first, and the key must be in the door lock before pressing the lock button.
