This module is located behind the interior side trim panel, LH side behind the front seat, below the rear LH side glass. AKA B Pillar trim panel. Access from inside, probably will require removal of the rear seat bottom and even top of seat to remove the panel. it will be the small box in the center of that area once the panel is removed. Under the back seat center panel. It is easy, pull back seat out and then you will see a rubber plug with wires through it is about 5" diameter. The pump is under the plug

Yes, alldata says all you have to do is drop it 6 inches and remove the fuel pump from the access hole under the seat, this is untrue!! The diameter of the fuel pump assembly is larger than the hole. You have to drop the entire tank....and its a pain in the ****! Try your hardest not to break any of the plastic fittings connected to the fuel tank when dropping it, because i did.

LOOK FOR PLASTIC ACCESS PANEL.FUEL PUMP UNDER THE PANEL YOU COULD HAVE 96 MERCURY COUGAR.WHICH YOU HAVE TO DROP FUEL TANK TO REMOVE FUEL PUMP.

Removal & Installation

1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
   
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
   
3. Relieve the fuel pressure.
   
4. Remove or disconnect the following:
   
   • Rear seat cushion
     
   • Plastic access panel
     
   • Fuel pump wiring harness connector
     
   • Fuel lines

     Remove the locking ring from the fuel pump sender with special tool Fuel Tank Sender Wrench D84P-9275-A

   • Fuel pump module lock ring. Use special tool Fuel Tank Sender Wrench D84P-9275-A.
     
   • Fuel pump module
     

To install:

1. Install or connect the following:
   
   • Fuel pump module with a new O-ring seal
     
   • Fuel pump module lock ring using special tool Fuel Tank Sender Wrench D84P-9275-A
     
   • Fuel lines
     
   • Fuel pump wiring harness connector
     
   • Plastic access panel
     
   • Rear seat cushion
     
   • Negative battery cable
     
2. Start the engine and check for leaks and proper operation.

If there is a access panel to the tank then yes, If not then the tank has to be dropted.If there is an access panel then it is under the back seat or under the carpet somewhere in the back of the car. Look under the car to see where the fuel tank is ,then look in the car above the tank. When removing the pump be carefull not to bend the fuel gauge float falve.Good luck

it should be under the car between the fuel tank and the rear axle area on one side of the framework

I wouldn't think so, 99% of cars will have an inspection plate above the pump assembly.
Try under the rear seat or under the boot carpet, there should be a 5" round Black plate.

the 93+ probe's (2nd generation) DO NOT have an access panel under the seats, or anywhere. only the 89-92 probe's did (1st generation) To gain access to the fuel pump, you have to drop the gas tank. or get handy with a cutter, and hope you dont blow yourself up.
