My daughter has 96 626 4 cyl that will stall at light sometimes starts right back up others not sometimes purs like a kitten. when it goes to stall you can feel shake and sputter when I get it restarted I will powerbrake it will miss as I back off it seems to catch itself like starving for fuel replaced fuelfilter.Ran injector cleanerand gas treatment. Bad fuelpump injector? She just got home says ran no problem

It sounds like a timing issue if you bring it to a local garage they can run a full diagnostic on it with their machine if its just an inquiry most places won't charge you to look at it and they can tell you if it is something they can fix quick or if they think its a serious issue
Being a 95 it dosent have OBD2 so it may not store a trouble code in the computer.
From the symptoms it sounds like either, Air flow sensor, O2 sensor
The O2 will not usually cause stalling under acceleration.
Could be throttle position sensor, idle air control motor, mass air flow meter, egr valve... if it hasn't had a tune up I would recommend it, since its over 12 years old those spark plugs and wires could use changing if it hasn't been done before.
Take it to a shop for diagnostics to be sure. It's hard to fix/diagnose something that is intermittant.
On the 2000 Bravada I have the "pleasure" of maintaining, I was recieving calls about 3x a week. It would crank over and not start.. and she would try this till the battery was dead. I would come jump it and it would be fine. Then it would crank over and start, but die right away, and do this 4 or 5 times before it would run. Does that sound like your problem?
The problem I found was the EGR valve was locking up. Once I replaced that it was all better, and purring like a kitten.
yeah that definitely sounds like the ignition switch went out. Had almost the same thing happen, along with alot of transmission error codes. I replaced the ignition switch harness and she purred like a kitten.
