The camshaft position sensor is mounted on the engine near the camshaft gear by the ignition coils.The crankshaft position sensor is mounted on the engine near the crankshaft.

The sensor would need to be tested with a meter. If it is faulty, the engine and - or transmission has to be removed to replace it.
You should be able to find the wiring harness as it goes into the transmission housing near the block.

Hello Paul, You stated your crossfire stalls and the usually restarts. It could be several things that cause this... If the check engine light is on, have it scanned to determine what caused it to come on - It sounds like you are having an intermittent crankshaft position sensor failure. crankshaft position sensor location for 3.3 V6 engine is mounted at the rear of the engine on transmission bellhousing, the 3.5 V6 engine crankshaft sensor located at front of the engine on the aluminum oil pan section below crankshaft pulley.replace the crankshaft position sensor remove heat shield disconnect the electrical connector the remove sensor retaining bolt then remove crankshaft sensor.after replacing crankshaft sensor you need to erase code if check light come back on.
