My 2007 chev express vans check engine light comes on and flashes 4 or 5 times about every mile for the first 10 miles in the morning then never comes on again until the van is cold the next morning. Any ideas. Thanks Steve

check your fuel pressure, and fuel regulator ,sounds like your fuel pump is on it's way out ,specially if you have over 100k mile

If it is running rough & no check engine light on then the first thing I would to is tune it up. If you have a check engine light then pay someone to diagnosis it & go from there. Usually when the light comes on there is a more promenient issue; that is WHY the light continues to flash.

remove dog house locate test port and install guage should be 45-60 psi

Catylatic converter. get it checked. Also check to see if your engine ground wire is properly secured.

if it shaking it could be suspension. tires bent axel and rim. but that wouldnt cause to lose power...
fuel air spark ratio isnt right. that is just what it sounds like.
ignition time could be off.
in proper fuel adjestment in the carb/ or if fuel injected..

Check the fuse panel

yours is a common product with both chevy and gmc. it most cases it is not a real problem as far as operating the vehicle goes, but oh so annoying. I recommend that you drive it another hundred miles and take it to an autozone where they usually have a computer check for free.

I have a corolla and had #4 cylinder misfire also diagnosed at autozone. After changing the spark plugs, problem persisted, along with the same error code, so they recommended changing the spark plug wires, and that is what fixed it. I would have changed the rotor cap too, but was low on dough. Glad that was not the problem.

give it a complete tune up and change the fuel pressure regulator and check the timming gear

a faulty fuel pressure regulator might be the cullpret too much fuel will also throw a misfire code
