2008 GMC Yukon will not come out of 4 wheel drive!

Changing tires from the OEM size will cause this,and many other problems as well. Such as steering and handling. You will also be driving faster than your speedometer say`s.Shocks and struts and all the suspension parts will wear faster.Maybe the dealer could remove that display.

Im having the same issue with my 96 yukon. did you figure out the problem??

{: ) If your vehicle has an AWD (All-Wheel Drive) feature, engine power is sent to all 4 wheels all the time. This is like four-wheel drive, but there is no separate lever or switch to engage or disengage the front axle. It is fully automatic, and adjusts ityself as needed for road conditions.

bad motor on transfer case

it sounds to me like the motor that switches the transfer case into 4 wheel drive DO NOT try to put it in 4 wheel. There should be no problem driving it as it is but if you continue to try it may get stuck in between and cause major problems

the most probable cause is the front diff actuator

if i am not mistaking these have the vacuum module on the front differential check it it is probably bad common problem on these trucks from 96 and up if it is the electronic type it could be one of three things the switch on the dash, motor on transfer case, or the electronic module for the 4 wheel drive.

SWITCH IS BAD, A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THEM AND I HAD ONE AND IT DID THE SAME THING TO ME, THE PUSH BUTTON 4WD SWITCH IS BAD

hav you changed the AWD fuse under the hood?

4x4 module. this controls the 4x4 common thing on gm
