The reason your belt is making a noise is either your belt is worn and needs replacing or the belt tension is out of adjustment and needs checking and adjusting.
It is a good idea to replace it anyway specially if the belt has small cracks on the inside.

Your car has 2 belts... one that runs the air conditioner and alternator and another to run the power steering. It sounds like your AC belt is loose or possibly worn to the point that it is slipping.

Inspect the belt for wear and tighten as needed. If the belt is cracked and worn, replace the belt. The squealing will stop.

Re-tension or replace the worn belt, and use belt dressing.

The belt should be replaced if it makes noise I don't recommend spray on belt dressing but it is something you could try.

My Mazda started smoking and making a really weird noise; when I turned off the a/c the noise stopped but it was still smoking and it smelled like something burnt. Could this be the timing belt?

Sounds like problem gone when AC clutch disengaged when switched off. Could be AC pump belt burning from seized or the belt slipped drastically. Is the smell like burning rubber or oil?

What's the CHEAPEST fix for my loud ac compressor?

I have a2004 mustang with a 3.9 making the same noise, and the shop replaced the AC compressor and all belt tensioners. I found that the noise is the timing chain tensionors .

Car squeals when AC is turned on for first 10-15 minutes.

The Belt of the a/c to the solenoid pulley is creating the noise.
So while the care makes the noise pour some water into the belt and the noise will subside. the it is confirmed.
Stop the engine and check for play in the belt if so tighten the belt If not use some chalk power or candle wax to be rrubbed into the belt that was making the noise - the a/c drive belt - .
Now start and check . the nosie would be reduced or gone.
Replace the belt sooner or later.

The air conditioning on my 2005 audi a3 has stopped working. The car has recently had new gearbox fitted. The car has been making a whirring noise. The other day it made a grinding noise the engine stopped...

This is typical problem when AC Compressor starts to lock up and first makes a noise. then on overheating locks up and will stall the engine until something breaks either in the clutch or belt and it is free again to start engine. Thoroughly check you AC with/without belt and see if it rotates freely.

Hearing a hissing noise when i turn on the ac in my 2004 nissan maxima

more likely the ac clutch is making the noise. go to any auto part store and pick up spray lubricate and spay it on the ac clutch and don't worried if it get on the belt. water and moister tend to dissolve or remove the lubricate from the clutch causing it to make all kind of noises when it turn on. try that and see if that stop.

Ac stopped working , smelled smoke, shut car off and on then ac worked fine but hearing odd roaring noise every now and then

Sounds like the AC compressor is going bad. Have the compressor tested and I'm sure the belt is what you were smelling. make sure nothing is touching the AC belt. If the compressor stops working properly the belt will burn. Solution= replace compressor and belt.

When the fan motor kicks in is making too much noise

the noise is the drain on the belt drive system upon AC start up, the belts may need to be tightened or the AC compressor clutch is in need of replacement, if you are saying when car stops you mean the engine is shutoff then this statement does not apply but if you mean when the vehicle comes to a stop at say a stop light then it applies.

2005 nissan ultima.hear a squeeling noise.its worse when ac is of

sounds like to tightened the belt to much... back off the tension on it a little bit, with the belt, you want it tight, but not to tight,,,, it should have about 1/4 flex in the belt when tightened... make a little loose and see if you still have the squeel... if you still do try going to a parts store, like pepboys, autozone etc. pick up some brake cleaner it will be in a canaster, and while the engine is running spray a little <spirts> on the pullys, and see if the squeel stops, if so then it could be a bad bearing in the part... see what makes it stop... the brake cleaner will dry quick and not ruin anything cause you do it in short bursts do not use wd40 or any oil type of stuff on it cause it will cause slippage...

Squealing NOISE possibly from fan belt

If the noise going away every time u turning off the ac it's probably your ac compressor belt.however i will suggest to take some vaseline and rub it all over the exposed parts of your drive belt.
