Did you bleed the air out of the system?
Also your lights will dim when running the pump. I dont know off hand how many amps it draws but
it is enough to dim your lites. that problem is normal..
Only other thing I can think of is the cable running from your battery to your pump a battery cable or a thin wire. It should be a heavy 0 gauge wire or you
wont get enough amps to run the pump to its max

PLOW GOES UP AND DOWN FINE BUT SIDE TO SIDE REAL SLOW TO RIGHT AND DOESNT MOVE TO LEFT

Are we talking about a snow plow that is connected to the front of a vehicle? I would check to see if there was an obstruction in the hoses that operate the right to left movement. Also see it there is something jammed in the plow limiting or restricting its movement.

My 12v haldex snow plow pump it draws so much power it kills the truck it goes up very slow and labored it wont turn l or r it is wired correctly been on truck 3 years ,problem just started

Dear Lawnie,
If you have a plow, that tells me you live where it i cold.
If so, perhaps you have salt used on roads and highways.
That salt can damage your plow, as well as your vehicle.
I think you may have salt or rust damage that is slowing down your pump.
If not, I would suspect one or more of your joints is freezing up.
Unfortunately, I think your plow may not have nuts & bolts to take it all apart and check each and every joint.
Many parts are probably welded together.
See if you can isolate the "stiff" joint or the pump itself for replacement.
God bless your efforts.

Meyer plow troubleshooting

Number one the plow headlights should be seperate from the vehicle. Get a new harness for the plow on ebay for cheap and have it installed. In the long run it will be cheaper.

I think you have a problem with the plow motor grounding out. when you raise or turn plow in either direction you have to run the plow motor which is grounded out. ( as in hooking the ground and positive together directly ) the plow is on a gravity drop when you let it down by the weight itself and does not require the motor for the plow to operate. It's your plow motor or the positive feed to selonoids.

I have an 88 chevy blazer with a myers snow plow when i raise the plow all the lights go out and the motor gets real sluggish i have been trying to figure it out but cant can you help me please

snow plows use alot of juice check state of battery if battery good check altnernator output may need to go with higher amp alternator or add a second battery

first thing to do is clean all connections leading to plow power and grounds (all of them ) and make sure there tight clean battery cables as well

next thing i would do is have battery load tested as this is probley the main cause as alternaotr working so hard to keep up it takeing all power from motor

if battery test out ok replace alternator with higher amp alternator

if still have problem after all that add a second battery to truck

The snow plow in my truck is not moving after the cool weather we hade last night in NJ. The motor still runing but my plow is not going up,left or rigth, but is going down

Dis you check the hydraulic fluid in the pump? If the fluid is low, you probably have a broken hose or a blown seal on one of your rams. If the fluid is full, you probably have a bad pump.
