Similar to mezouii, my jeep grand cherokee laredo runs out of gas quite often and sooner than it should. the gas gage is broken but i time the mileage after i gas up and i should be able to go twice as far as it goes. this mostly happens after my car has been parked and it just wont start. i usually park in the garage and i havent seen any spills so i dont think it is a leak. The previous owner recently replaced the fuel pump himself. could this have something to do with the problem?

Sounds like somone has a garden hose in your tank personaly i would check the fuel tank ground
it is likely the reason your gage doesnt work
once gage works you can properly monitor fuel use

1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0. Got fuel, got spark but won't start!

Question edited for clarity. Cranking IS turning over. You are cranking but not firing, or starting, or running.

If you haven't much pressure at the rail, your likely problem is not enough fuel pressure and the fuel pump needs replacing. One post here says you need 39 PSI and another says 49 PSI. What do you have? You need to test with a pressure gauge.

My 97 grand Cherokee Laredo ran out of gas . I put 6 gallons in. Still will not start. No gages are coming on when trying to crank. Please help.

Have someone crank it for while you bang on the bottom of fuel tank. If it starts you have injured fuel pump by running out of gas

Sometimes my gas gage works on my 1996 jeep cherokee laredo and most of the time it doesn't. I also can not roll up the back window on the passenger side. Help Please

The master switch is the most likely cause for the window problem, and the fuel gauge is most likely the fuel sending unit in the fuel tank

Sounds like an electrical problem; look for loose, corroded or kinked/broken wires. The problem is most likely in the dash wiring/connections and seems to be pretty common in jeeps.
