I think this indicates that you have an exterior light out. Check the tail lights, brake lights and the three bulbs that are mounted at the top of the rear window.

Testimonial: "thanks! I believe one of the bulbs in the third brake light is out. I will check it out."

Headlights not in sinc or one high the other dim and then the other way around when brights are on

The wires and possibly bulbs are in the wrong sockets. Just swap0 them, high for low and low for high.

ill pretend yes......
blown fuse. what else could cause so many things, to lose DC power.
>?
a fuse can be good, bad or intermittent , even corroded,
a tech would scratch head and pick the easiest fault to fix.
my guess, is
dashboard doesnt work means the guages , and idiot lamps are dead but the park lamps there (dimmable) do work.
so what fuse is that.? i say to self.....
I open the FSM. and look at the power cluster feed.
what do i see.?

i look in instruments page. (aka. cluster)
tells you how it works
then i jump wiring page 8w-40-2
i see what, Fuse 10. is it good? and fuse 17.
fuse 10 is key on,, and fuse 17, is hot full time.

thats it, if the cluster is dead, only fuses can kill it 100% dead
or it losts its main ground, which is unlikely but voltmeter proves
in 1min flat. (G201)

i picked right, the cluster dead, is the most simple
if Headlights are dead, its most simple (not in Canada with DRL)

bingo?

If it happened the way you described it. I don't see how it could possibly have damaged anything. I guess what you are saying is that the left tail lights are not working? ("4 way exterior dim lights"???) Touching the tail light wire to the turn signal wire will only cause your turn signals to light up. (I am assuming that the tail light switch was on at the time)
I think it is more likely that the brown wire touched ground. This would make a bright flash, blow a fuse and cause the symptom you are describing...I think you need to check the fuse again.
There are separate fuses for the left and right sides. The left side tail lamp fuse is fuse #7 in the junction block it is a 10 Amp fuse. The junction block is located on the right cowl side inner panel - We are NOT talking about the Power Distribution Center under the hood.

All of the above is also assuming that we are talking about a plain Cherokee, Cherokee SE, Cherokee classic or Cherokee Limited.

If we are talking about any of the Grand Cherokees, you may have a fried lamp outage module.

My lights on my grand cherokee is deem and my inside lights won't go off if my dashboard lights are bright. When I deem my dashboard lights my inside lights can go off

Sounds like your dash light dimmer switch is faulty. It is supposed to allow you to turn off the inside lights and still have the dash lights either bright or dim. Have it checked out and replaced.

Electrical Problem

you need to go to the dealer and have the body control module checked and replaced. The bdc mod controls everything pretty much inside cabin. The dealer can put it on the scanner and check. But with lock , windows , dash lights the body control module is bad. you have to get from the dealer because they have to program it for your jeep. and they are not that exspensive they go out all the time in jeeps.

Head lights and dashboard lights come on and off

This is usually a sign of the battery wires not connected completely or the ground has become frayed and needs to be replaced.

1993 jeep grand cherokee limited no running lights/tail lights.

Id look at the headlight switch and do some voltage tests to see whats coming out of there. Pay close attention to any wires which look like someone was in there already.People can mess stuff up faster and better than the vehicle can by itself!
