I got an 89 vandon plas that will start sometimes and run about a min then its like you just turn it off and it takes a while to get it to do it agen iv checked the fuel filter and the pressure what else can cause this

The fuel pump is weak. If you listen close enough you can hear the pump working real hard, it will heat up and quit. It may start up again but will eventually fail. Experience speaking.

I have a 89 camaro i replace the ignition switch and brought a new key as well. I had both keys checked and they have the same code. Car will still not start and the security light is still on help.

take the negative cable off battery for 30 min then put ut back on insert your key turn it on half way let sit for 3 min then turn it off and then start it up normally

replace the fuel filters sometimes little particals get into them and clog the fillter after a few mins running it then blocks the opening and strarves the engine for fuel

your fuel filter might be clogged. take it off and see if you can blow thru it.....if theres any resistance, you need a new one. it should be easy to blow thru . yes USE your mouth , and yes it taste bad. but thats how ya fix it

89 SC STARTS AND RUN GOOD ABOUT 5 MIN THEN STUMBLES AND PINGS AND DOESNT PICK UP SPEED FUEL PRESURE IS FINE BUT SEEMS BE TO LEAN

make sure oxygen sensors are good, also check injectors,make sure fuelpreasure is up to specs, and last check your mass air flow sensor, they go bad very often or get very dirty.try cleaning first but i would replace it if it is dirty, sometime you can get lucky and clean but sometimes not, good luck.

89 regal won,t start but after 5 or 10 min. runs great

sounds like your fuel pump is going out. One thought might be that the fuel filter is causing enough resistance to over heat the pump. I would check the fule pressure to determine a free flow of fuel.
