i have a c180 merc petrol when starting the starter dosnt engage prop for afew turns then it engages and engine starts i have change the ring gear plus change the starter and still geting the same prob
hi.try disconnecting the car battery.MAKE SURE YOU HAVE RADIO CODE!!leave for 30mins and reconnect.may reset the imboliser.i think renault can turn of imboliser if thats what it is with there computer.

Could it be the key just needs re-coding? maybe you are worrying to much as £177 would be about right as that would need coding etc., Try phoning your local Merc dealer or take the key and V5 to them for coding (Hopefully)
