4wheel drive goes into 4low wont go into 4 high. is there an adj.thank you.

Floor mount shifter? Check the transmission mount first. If the mount has failed it can be very difficult to find 4 Hi because of the position of the floor shifter in the gate. There is also a simple adjustment on the linkage with a single locking bolt which may need reset.

Most 4x4 systems require the trans to be in neutral to shift into or out of 4x4low.

Depends on the year of the truck. If it's old then it sounds like a damaged transfer case. If it's newer it may be a sensor.

check linkage, out of adjustment, or worn. Interferance between the control lever and the console. play in transfer case mounts. internal wear.

4 wheel neutral vehicle will not move that for towing or moving around --put in 2wh --4hi or if have 4low transfer case has to be in a setting to move

I have a 1997 chevy silverado Z71 4x4. When i put it in neutral at a complete stop and hit 4HI or 4LOW the light well just sit there in flash. It stays a solid light when it is in 2wd why well it not...

Sounds like the actuator on the front axle is bad.

You replaced the actuator and motor ? That should have fixed the problem. It seems that the replacement of the actuator thermister is still not working properly. Some of the newer actuator switches are not very good. Get one for an older truck . it has been said they are better quality . But the newer ones sometimes don't work.

Truck will not go into 4 wheel drive

it sound like it is going in to 4low rang but it may only be low 2wheel power brake it a little on dirt if the tires sin in the rear it was only low ranged 2 wheel u can get this by putting it in 4low and unlocking the hubs it may be a hub prob as it is common

How to shift into 4wd

Ford has 2 types of 4x4 system engagement. One is a knob on the dash that you just turn to 4wheel drive high or low. The other system is the 4x4 transfer case shift on the transmission tunnel (hump) between the driver and passenger seats. To shift into 4 wheel drive high while driving, just let off the gas and shift transfer case into 4H position, and continue driving. To shift into 4 wheel drive Low, stop the vehicle completely, put transmission in neutral, shift transfer case into 4Low position, put trans. in gear, and start driving. I am assuming before doing the above, you have locked in ( turned the front hubs to 4 wheel drive position.) Any further questions, let me know.

4 wheel drive issues, appears to work in 4low but not 4 high

yes it is the switch. the switches are bad about going out in chevrolets which I am very familiar with. generally speaking if it goes into 4wd period it eliminates the actuator, and it also means t-case is functioning, it is just the selector switch.
