Im leaking transmission fluid from what appears to

I have a 1992 chevy lumina apv that is leaking transmission fluid from what appears to be a transmission line but the fluid is so coarse I cannot tell which line its coming from. Its leaking from one of the lines under the radiator. It only leaks when I start the car up and its at idle, when I shut it off it stops, any suggestions?

Make sure you don not run low on transmission fluid in your transmission. Low transmission fluid will cost you a new transmission. You have the transmission line that connects to the upper passenger side or the radiator and the lower passenger side of the radiator. Determine which line has gone bad and you can buy a rubber transmission line hose at most Auto Parts store like Parts Source. Cut off out the section with a pipe cutter that has corroded through and replace with the transmission hose. Make sure you tell them it's a transmission line hose your looking for and don't use any other hose and double clamp with a compression clamps at ether end. If it's the connection at the radiator that has gone bad, replace that end and do that same as you would to sectioning off the the corroded line and try not to have more then 3 inches of repaired section. What ever you do, do not add any stop leak, this will create problems with the shift solenoids and check valves in your valve body in the transmission causing a transmission replacement soon after adding. Good luck and keep me posted.

This is transmission fluid tht is leaking for sure.
You will have to check it out if its the pipe (rubber) tht is fractured or the pipe at the radiator itself where the flexible pipe (metal) fits.
Basically the transmission fluid runs thro the radiator once the engine is running for cooling purpose, one of the pipes is inlet and the other one is the outlet.
A quick cleaning of the lines with degreaser might be of good help to locate the leak.
Hope this helps!

1991 Chevy Lumina APV. The transmission fluid is leaking. Can this be a gasket or seal problem? Also, can it be I put too much fluid in?

Leaking transmission fluid can usually be traced to 1 or 2 problems:
  1. leaking transmission line - a line could be bent or it could be leaking around a fitting, the most common place for a transmission line to leak
  2. the gasket around the transmission pan is worn - this would cause leaking and having the filter and fluid changed should fix this problem
To answer your other question, YES it is possible to overfill the transmission fluid. Check the dipstick (with the car running) and ensure that the level stays between the recommended marks.

My 1992 Chevy Lumina Euro is leaking radiator fluid on the right side. Leaking when I start engine. How long does it take to replace a radiator in this car, Is it expensive

its not to bad for someone who has changed one before. Naturally it could be a little costly if you have to pay a garage to do it. doing it yourself would probably cost you between $100-$300 dollars for the radiator depending where you bought the part, normally will cost you 2 to 2-1/2 times that cost for a garage to do it

Leaks transmission fluid from the bottom pan underneath vehicle, why. After I tightened it it stopped for a couple of days and now has started leaking again

The gasket may be bad, or the pan isnt flat. Replace the gasket and filter. Make sure the pan rail is flat and straight.

Im leaking transmission fluid is this going to be costly

Is it a 3 speed or a 4 speed. Can you tell where the leak is coming from. You need to add until it reads full on the dipstick when it warm and running.
