I have a 1997 Acura EL. The suspension was just changed on it. Randomly during driving it will smell of gas on the inside of the car. Could a line have been broken somewhere during the suspension change?

Is check engine light on while driving also? The evaporative system, and fuel system on these vehicles (OBDII) are very sensitive. If there was any damage or something mistakenly left undone on this system , the check engine light without a doubt would be on sensing a leak.

Strong gasoline fumes when vehicle is parked, what causes this?

first of course is to look for leaks second, get the emissions and recirculation canister and related stuff looked at..be careful here because this could ultimately explode in the garage..park it outide if nessecary...and dont overfill the cars' tank,, too many people do this and get fuel inside all the overflow tubes..not a good thing.. fill until the hose turns off once and stop....good luck...

Check under the hood on the side of the fuel rail, the fuel pressure regulator value, this is a common problem.

If I were you ,I would remove the plentum and make sure the injectors are not leaking onto the intake manifold and creating a pocket of fuel, witch could cause a engine fire while driving.

91 Maxima Gasoline odor when I first start the car

If it is running fine, the busted bolt isn't the source of the gasoline smell. The intake manifold has vacuum, so the smell wouldn't be getting out, air would be going in, and a vacuum leak would give you poor idling. The exhaust manifold wouldn't have much raw gasoline smell. But it would have loud noise if the broken bolt were causing an exhaust leak.

Check that the vapor recovery line is not broken or disconnected. The hose connectors get cracked. If that were broken, it would cause a gasoline smell after the car has been sitting, especially if it has been sitting in the sun, heat driving gasoline vapor out of the tank. It is supposed to condense in the vapor canister, but some escapes if the line is broken. If it is broken, driving would **** out the gasoline from the line and the wind would dissipate the smell.

Or it could be a leaking injector. With the injector cover off, engine idling and cool, you can visually look for raw gas around the injectors and injector rail connections.

Hope this helps.

Don't know this car but from the age, I'd start looking for damaged fuel or vapor recovery hoses
