How do you find the fuel shut off switch on a 2005

Kill switch ????? It's called inertia fuel shut off switch . Unless you were in a accident the chance the fuel shut off switch being your problem is astronomical . If the vehicle doesn't start , checking for spark an fuel pressure and compression to find the cause of the no start problem . Given the year of the vehicle it could need a new fuel pump or fuel pump relay . If the vehicle isn't getting fuel ,viewing a wiring diagram for the fuel pump electrical circuit an testing with a DVOM - digital volt ohmmeter is the proper way to diagnose . But just to answer your question the inertia fuel shut off switch is located
According to the 2003 Ford Escape owners manual : The fuel pump inertia switch ( shut off switch ) is located in the front passenger footwell , behind a flip up cover , near the right kick panel access. Just push the button .If it was tripped it will click when pushed .

Did you change your fuel filter,, Start with that.

Sounds like the fuel pump in the tank is not coming on.
There can be other reasons for this besides a bad fuel pump.
Stand by the rear of your car near the tank, and take the fuel filler cap off. Have someone turn the key to on (not cranking). You should hear the pump come on for about 2-3 seconds to pressurize the fuel lines, then shut back off. If you hear it, then pump is working. If you don't hear it, you'll need your fuel pump checked. It or the circuit is not working.

The fuel pump shut-off switch is located in the front passenger's foot well, behind the kick panel. The reset button for the fuel pump shut-off switch is accessible through an opening in the kick panel.



Use the following procedure to reset the fuel pump shut-off switch.
1. Turn the ignition to the OFF position.
2. Check the fuel system for leaks.
3. If no fuel leak is apparent, reset the fuel pump shut-off switch by pushing in, i.e. down on the reset button.

If the fuse isn't blown it probably isn't fuel pump.  Check for voltage at connector by tank.  Check Fuses and Relay. (can swap relays if the same numbers)
Bang the fuel tank as someone turns key off and on - dirt in fuel pump may dislodge itself and good to go!
Check Crank-Sensor - and low oil may cut off fuel! May be this sensor.
Some Fords have a Master Reset on Firewall.
Not a Ford person but may give you some clues.

sounds like the starter, the fuel pump is in the gas tank

you have a vapor vent tube problem. When fuel goes in, the iar must come out. The filler pipe has a vent pipe inside it. Try putting the nozzle in upside down & see what happens. Try putting the nozzle all the way in & see what happens? Try putting the nozzle in just a little way & see what happens.
Otherwise, you may need a new filler pipe.
