If the battery is loosing power as you drive it,then the alternator has gone bad, this is what charges the battery, and the engine will also not run correctly if it is not charging.
Testimonial: "changed the alternator and the car is working fine...thanks a lot."

You probably need to loosen the battery terminals and clean them. What you are saying is typically what happens if the battery posts are very corroded or, if one, or both of the cables are loose. Look for corrosion around the cables too.
you always have to reset when you take the battery out or it goes stone dead. loosing power sounds like a battery going dead due to no charging. charge it up and drive it bck to auto zone for an alternator check.
The battery could be completely dead or the alternator isn't working. Those would be the first 2 things I would check you can have them test the alternator at Autozone too.
check that the battery terminals were done up tight. run the fault codes to find any faults and use a scanner to reprogram the CPU. Check the IGN fuse near the battery or a fusible link next to the battery
Transmission fluid in the power steering is definantly not reccomended, i would flush the power steering ASAP before even driving it or you will most likely be looking at another rack and pinion :(
CHECK ALTERNATOR FUSE AND FUSE LINK ALTERNATOR NOT GETTING NO POWER FROM BATTERY.ALSO CHECK ALTERNATOR WIRES CONNECTORS FOR DAMAGE OR BROKE WIRES IN THE ALTERNATOR ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS. I HAD SAME PROBLEM WITH CHEVROLET THE VOLTAGE REGULATOR WIRES CAME OUT THE CONNECTOR I HAD TO BUY NEW CONNECTOR CRIMP IT SOLDER THEN SEAL IT WITH ELECTRICAL TAPE IF FUSE AND FUSE LINK OKAY MORE LIKELY YOU HAVE DAMAGED WIRES AT CONNECTOR MAKE SURE DRIVE BELT TIGHT AND NOT SLIPPING.
The coed is in the adio book that came with the car.If you have not got that then ask the the person who you bought the car from.Failing that you can get it from your dealers.
