There is no external type fuel filter on the Santa Fe. It is built into the fuel pump module in the tank, you rould have to remove your rear seat bottom cushions and get to the access plate and remove the pump module. Can be very time consuming if you have never done this before.
Yes--- the fuel filter is located inside the fuel tank and can be accessed by removing the
left rear seat and cutting the carpet to gain access to the gas tank access
panel, etc. The filter is part of the fuel pump assembly. Recommended service is 52K. I hope this helps.
The gas filter is located inside the gas tank in a 2005 Santa Fe. It is part of the fuel pump assembly located in the left side of the gas tank. It can be located by removing the left rear seat, folding a panel in the carpet out of the way, and removing a small metal plate in the floor.
The fuel pump is in the fuel tank. Look under the carpeting in the back of the truck for an access hatch, either in the cargo area or under the rear seat. If you don't see one, you'll have to drop the tank down off the bottom of the car.
Please follow the steps to change the fuel filter. You would need to remove the left rear seat (four 14mm bolts). I think you'll need to finish cutting through the tabs on the carpet to be able to lift up the carpet. Then remove the access cover. You can then remove the fuel pump from the top of the tank.
